Definition

The follower is the partner that follows the leader.

In the most classical example (man-woman) this will be the woman. With same-sex couples, one of the two will be the follower.

This is considered to be the easier of the two roles, but a skilled follower wil introduce adornos like gancho, golpes, lustrada.

The follower can dance in a loose embrace, so only the arms touch, or in a close embrace. In the latter, the eyes can be closed to enhance concentration, and some women will also rest their forehead against the cheek of the leader. The style of dancing is an agreement between both leader and follower. Both have to be comfortable with the level of physical contact.
